Monday was a very proud moment for the Buffalo High School Woodshop and SkillsUSA chapter, when the SkillsUSA president, Justin Sullivan, and the Vice President, Rylee Rivera, got to present the podium that Justin built for the Governor's Mansion to Governor Gordon and his wife. This was made from a tree that grew right here in Buffalo and we were lucky enough to have Heartland Tree Services reach out to us about donating it to the program. Knotty Pine Milling was kind enough to mill it up for the school and Bennett and Sons helped with drying the wood in their kiln. Justin then took on the project of transforming the slabs of wood into the podium you see. It required a ton of work on his part as well as learning new methods and tools, like the CNC machine, to complete. He did a fantastic job with his attention to detail and the end product is one of those pieces that actually looks better in person than it does in the pictures. This project is awesome in so many ways, from the fact that we repurposed the tree that had to come down anyways, to all of the amazing community members that helped along the way during this process and then finally to the craftsmanship that Justin put into building this. Thank you to everyone that was involved in this project.

Many BHS students are willing to pitch when there is a need. Hosting a Veteran's Day celebration requires a lot of helping hands. Cheerleaders decorated for the luncheon, football players served as escorts for our veterans, volleyball girls served the lunch, and students volunteered to present during the ceremony. What a great group of young adults!!

Happy Veteran's Day to these special veterans who visited BHS for our Veteran's Day ceremony. We appreciate these men and women who faithfully served our country. You are all appreciated! 🇺🇸

Happy Veteran's Day! Buffalo High School was proud to host a Veteran's Day celebration. The students of BHS performed musically and shared presentations, honoring our veterans from Buffalo. Following the ceremony, students, teachers, and veterans enjoyed lunch together.

Spanish 2 students shared an alebrije parade around BHS. They learned the history of Alebrije in Mexico and then had to create their own Alebrije. An Alebrije is a sort of spirit animal día de los muertos.
