May 22, 2020

Dear Parents/Guardians and Students,

This weekend will start the first of our two graduation ceremonies in the district.  Buffalo High School will have their ceremony this Sunday, May 24 at 4 pm and Kaycee will have theirs next Saturday, May 30 at 7 pm..  I want to congratulate all of our graduates this year.  They handled the most adversity of any class in recent memory.  The road blocks they have encountered have given them the tools they need to be successful regardless the direction they decide to go.  I want to let the class of 2020 know the world is ready for them and looking forward to them being a big part in it.  Parents and staff are proud to see the successes this class has earned.  Class of 2020, good luck and always strive to be the best.

Next week will begin the schedule of cleaning out lockers and turning in devices to each school.  Parents make sure to check in with your building administrator to know the scheduled times and places to meet.  The administration team continues to work on many different plans for next year.  We are still looking to the State and the CDC for recommendations.  We know that at any time these can change so we are putting together as many possibilities as we can.  There will be surveys sent out this summer to parents and students as the district will look to gather information to help give us directions in our plans.  Once the district gets the direction we need to solidify the plans, we will communicate that out as soon as we can.

I want to also thank staff and parents for their patience through all of this.  There were many things we learned through this.  Hopefully when school gets back in session this fall, it will have some sense and feel of normalcy.  As I receive more information, I will continue to get that out.  We have a new app coming out for those who have smart phone and droids.  Once that becomes available, it will be a free download to give parents and students an easier way of staying up on the latest information from the district.  If you are traveling this Memorial Weekend, please travel safe and give thanks to the service men and women who have given up their lives or continue to serve in the armed forces for our freedom.  Their service will be forever appreciated.

Sincerely,

Jim Wagner
