ACCEPTABLE USE POLICY FOR STUDENTS
At Johnson County School District #1, students will be using the Internet for accessing electronic information databases as well as Internet search engines. These are incredible resources for students; however, some information on the Internet is not age or subject appropriate for students. To ensure appropriate use of the Internet, we have established the following guidelines.
EFUNDS FOR SCHOOLS
ENTRANCE AGE INFORMATION
The Wyoming legislature recently passed House Bill 0174 which included a change in the age requirement for registering for kindergarten. Under the new law, students must turn five on or before August 1 of the upcoming school year. Previously, the cutoff date for eligibility was September 15 of the school year.
Families of students whose birthdays fall between August 1 and September 15 may submit a request for an exemption.
The Board of Trustees of JCSD1, will take advisement of the screening process provided by the K-2 school if a parent or guardian poses a request of admission to Kindergarten to determine whether a pupil is sufficiently mature to be admitted to the applicable grade.
If the Board approves a parent or guardian request for an exemption then a child may register for kindergarten in a year in which the child attains the age of five years by September 15.
The screening process consists of a universal screening tool that accesses the large/small motor skills, cognitive skills, social/emotional readiness, and general maturity.
Proof of birth in the form of a birth certificate or other legal evidence of birth date and proof of the required immunizations will be required for initial enrollment.
