Our first stop was Torrington Livestock Markets where Kaycee alum Ben Kukowski and his co-worker Mindy talked about jobs and careers available through the sale ring and the education and/or experience necessary for each position. Students were able to view the stockyards and ask questions. Ben was able to share some great insight and it was wonderful to be able to have a successful alum offer us the tour.
Eastern Wyoming Community College Students were able to tour many of the facilities available at EWC and look at degree, transfer, and financial aid options.
Museum of the Fur Trade Upon arriving in Chadron, students toured the Museum of the Fur Trade which is dedicated to the cohabitation of Native Americans and European settlers. Students were able to view artifacts from all around North America, dating back to the Revolutionary War.
Camp Norwesca This year we tried something different and stayed at a camp. There were outdoor and indoor games for students to enjoy. Some great memories were definitely made.
Chadron State College Tuesday morning we were able to tour Chadron State College. While some areas were off limits due to finals week, we were able to see a great campus and learn about the financial options available to students attending Chadron. We saw the geology museum, student art exhibit, and athletic facilities and learned about a great hydroponics initiative at the college.
