October Students of the Month- Ownership

OWNERSHIP – Take responsibility for actions

3rd : Asher Scott

I would like to recognize Asher for the Key of Ownership. Ownership can be very difficult because it’s often easier to blame someone else or circumstances instead of taking responsibility for our choices. Asher is self-reflective enough to say, “I could do better at that” or apologizing when he has made a choice he’s not proud of. He never tries to place the blame on others, but admits when he needs to work on something. This takes true courage. In the definition of Ownership, I like the part that says, “When we take responsibility for our choices, others know they can count on us” and Asher shows his classmates that he is trustworthy and that they can count on him to be an honest, positive, helpful member of any class, group, or team. Asher, thank you for showing us what Ownership looks like!

4th: Jayden Lee

Today, we are recognizing Jayden Lee for the Key of Ownership.

Jayden knows that nobody is perfect — and he doesn’t try to pretend that he is. What makes him stand out is how he owns his mistakes and works hard to make things right. Sometimes that means admitting when he made a mistake, offering an apology, putting in real effort to have a better attitude, or taking control of his frustrations so he can move forward in a positive way.

Jayden shows that true ownership isn’t about being perfect; it’s about being honest, responsible, and always striving to do better. His willingness to reflect, make changes, and grow sets a great example for everyone around him. Congratulations, Jayden! We’re proud of the effort, maturity, and heart you show every day.

5th: Ben Pearson

This month, I am so proud to recognize Ben as our recipient of the Key of Ownership! Ben truly stands out because he takes responsibility for his actions every single day. When things don’t go the way he hoped, he doesn’t make excuses or blame someone else. Instead, he takes a step back, thinks about what he could do differently, and works hard to make it better the next time. That kind of honesty and maturity shows real character—and it’s something we can all look up to.

Ben also shows ownership in the way he approaches his learning. He comes to class prepared, gives his best effort, and always follows through on what he starts. Whether it’s tackling a tough math problem, helping a classmate, or keeping our classroom organized, (and admitting it’s usually his mess) Ben takes pride in doing his best work and doing it the right way.

He’s a quiet leader who leads by example. Ben doesn’t need to be in the spotlight—his actions speak for him. He treats others with respect,  and shows that responsibility isn’t just about getting things right—it’s about learning, growing, and showing integrity in everything you do.

By taking ownership of his choices and setting such a positive example, Ben reminds us that true leadership starts with accountability.

We are all so proud of you, Ben! Congratulations on earning the Key of Ownership—you’ve absolutely earned it!
