THIS IS IT! – Make the most of every moment
3rd: Zander Puente is a perfect representation of This Is It. He is in each moment, thoughtful and engaged in what he is learning. He listens to new information and he asks questions to find out more. In class discussions, he often draws connections between what we’re talking about and other experiences or situations, which gives us a broader perspective of the topic.
When Zander is playing soccer, he gives his all to the game. When he is on recess, he is playing hard, enjoying his time. When he is in class, he is focused on learning and participating. He is consistently on-task, thinking about what he needs to do right now to be most successful. And he is successful, as a soccer player, a friend, and a student. We are fortunate to have Zander Puente at CPES!
4th: Today we are proud to celebrate Haylee Southerland
Haylee is a shining example of what it means to live in the moment and give your very best effort. She comes to school each day with enthusiasm, a bubbly personality, and a smile that can brighten anyone’s day. Haylee tries her hardest in everything she does, and she’s not afraid to take on hard things.
What makes Haylee stand out even more is her determination. When something doesn’t go the way she hoped, she doesn’t give up…she owns it, learns from it, and digs in even deeper until she figures it out. That kind of grit and perseverance is what true success is built on.
Haylee also shows her heart by being there for others. She’s always willing to lend a helping hand to her classmates, cheering them on and supporting them when they need it most.
Her positive energy, courage, and kindness inspire us all. Congratulations, Haylee, on being our This is It Key winner—you are a role model for what it means to live fully and never give up!
5th: Henry Straessler “This is It” is all about making the most of every moment, staying present, and giving your best effort to what’s right in front of you. Henry has shown time and again that he truly lives by this principle. Whether it’s participating in class with enthusiasm, or showing dedication to his work and peers, Henry approaches each day with a positive attitude and a commitment to doing his best.
And it doesn’t stop there, I’ve seen Henry carry that same energy and presence outside of school into other areas of his life. For example, on the soccer field, he’s just as committed—focused, determined, and always giving his team his best.
Henry doesn’t just go through the motions—he puts his heart into everything he does. Henry, thank you for reminding us all that this moment matters! You’re an awesome example of what it means to live the key of “This is It.” Congratulations!
