student with bank books

Earning 4% interest is unheard of in the “Adult World”, but not in your middle schooler’s world!  CCMS has partnered with First Interstate Bank to provide the    opportunity for our students to start saving their money and learn about financial literacy.

The bank is open on Wednesday mornings before school for students to make deposits.  If your child had an account while attending CPES or CCMS last year, their account is still active and they can continue to deposit money.  If your child doesn’t have an account, they can start an account by getting an application from our Mini Bank Directors on Wednesday mornings.

This opportunity for students only extends until the end of 8th grade.  Once a student finishes 8th grade, the money in their ‘Mini Bank’ account can either be withdrawn, rolled over into a ‘regular savings account’ at First Interstate, or it can be transferred to an account at any other bank here in Buffalo.

Please contact sponsoring teachers Kris Thiele and Aaron Mines or any of our Mini Bank Directors with any questions.
