students working by creek

The CCMS 8th graders were treated to an afternoon in park being educated by someone other than their classroom teachers.  Representatives from the BLM, US Forest Service, Wyoming Game and Fish, Wyoming State Forestry and the NRCS hosted stations in which groups of students rotated through.  Students got to engage with the professionals in stations such as electrofishing, telemetry, wildland fire, soil creation and layering, orienteering, primitive hunting, invasive species, leave no trace ethics and terrestrial insect identification.  Thank you to these agencies for sharing their expertise with our 8th graders at CCMS.
