Contractors – Request for Proposals
On the last Tuesday in March, we receive by sealed bid, RFP documents for choosing contractors for a one year contract. The majority of projects covered by the contract start the first week of June and end the third week of August. All projects are given to the respective contractor the first of May and are expected to be completed in this construction window, contractors should have sufficient employees and equipment to meet this deadline. During the school year, contractors are on call for assorted repairs. Please look over past and present projects under Major Maintenance (above) or call the Supervisor of Buildings and Grounds.
Duties of Skilled Trade Contractors
Include the following, but not limited to:
Individual projects and installation of power outlets, light fixtures and switches, conduit, breakers, and similar related electrical work at various locations throughout the District. Recent projects have included replacing incandescent light fixtures with LED’s.
GENERAL CONTRACTOR – BUILDINGS
Repair and replacement of assorted building systems, carpet installation and demolition, sports field painting, door painting, wall painting, drywall repair, and similar related work at various locations throughout the District.
GENERAL CONTRACTOR – GROUNDS
Repair and replacement of assorted building systems related to grounds, concrete, sprinkler installation, drainage, roads, asphalt crack sealing and seal coating, and similar related work at various locations throughout the District.
GYM FLOOR CONTRACTOR
Painting and resurfacing of all gym floors, repair of decking, and similar related Gym Floor work at various locations throughout the District.
Repair and replacement of all HVAC equipment, repair and replacement of HVAC controls, and similar related HVAC work at various locations throughout the District.
Repair and replacement of water and gas piping systems, installation of water fountains, domestic water boilers, and similar related Plumbing work at various locations throughout the District.
Projects will typically be limited in size and scope of work required.
